ASRA/CCS 33rd Annual Race of Champions

Fall Cycle Scene

Daytona International Speedway

Daytona Beach, Florida

October 14-16, 2016

Fort Worth, TX – Despite Hurricane Matthew, the Daytona International Speedway will be ready for the 33rd Annual Race of Champions October 14th through the 16th. While local businesses are still recuperating from the aftermath of the storm, the Fall Cycle Scene will go on as planned. Unfortunately some local roads are closed while clean-up and repairs continue so please check with your local accommodations to verify they are prepared for guests and any road closures that may affect your travel plans.

One change to note, with utility repair crews using our normal staging area, we will return to the Turn 1 Ticket Booth (Ticket Booth E) for registration. This means competitors should enter the Speedway through Gate 40 off Williamson Blvd, turn to the left and pre-stage next to the walk through gate and then walk up the hill to the Ticket Booth E registration.

Garage and paddock move-in is still scheduled to start at Noon on Thursday October 13th after racers and crew are properly credentialed. The garage and paddock area will close at 5:00pm Thursday and re-open at 7:00am Friday.

On track activities kick off on Friday at 8:00am with the Team Hammer Advanced Riding School & Practice and runs until 5:00pm. With post-entry still available, make sure to get to registration early to secure your spot for Friday activities.

Racing action starts on Saturday at Noon with 7 CCS National Championship races and the 44-lap AMA Sanctioned ASRA Team Challenge Presented by Michelin Tire. This final Team Challenge race will determine the Overall Class Championships between the Mavros Motorsports team and 7-time defending National Champion Grease Monkey Racing.

The Sunday schedule is sprint racing all day long as the first 3 CCS National Championship races begin at 10:15am followed by 3 ASRA Sprints Present by Pirelli Tire at 11:45am. The rest of the afternoon has 8 CCS National Championship sprints followed by the ASRA/CCS National Championship Trophy Presentation at 6:30pm

The American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) is the parent organization to the Championship Cup Series (CCS), the largest amateur motorcycle road racing organization in the United States issuing over 3,000 licenses per year. ASRA promotes eight AMA sanctioned Sprint Series and eight AMA sanctioned Team Challenge road racing events for 2016.
