The AMA Superstock race at Barber Motorsports Park was stopped on lap 13 of 17 due to a crashed motorcycle lying on the course. Scoring has been reverted to lap 12, and the race will be re-started for five additional laps.

At the time of the crash, Kawasaki’s Tommy Hayden held a slim lead over Team Valvoline EMGO Suzuki’s Steve Rapp.

Attack Suzuki’s Josh Hayes, who had battled with Hayden for the lead earlier in the race and had earned the bonus point for leading the most laps, was cruising in third place with Vincent Haskovec and Jason DiSalvo four seconds behind him.

If the race had ended with that finishing order, Hayes would have won the AMA Superstock Championship over Hayden by two points.

Adam Fergusson was the rider who crashed and caused the race to be stopped. After lying in the gravel trap for a moment, he walked away from the incident.
