Blue Battled Blue As Cameron Beaubier Got The Better Of His Teammate Hayes In SuperBike Race 1 At Mid-Ohio

Lexington, OH – July 20, 2014 – After getting rained out on Saturday, AMA Pro SuperBike Race 1 went off as re-scheduled on Sunday morning, and it was battle definitely worth waiting for. Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha teammates Josh Hayes and Cameron Beaubier started side-by-side on the front row, with Josh on pole. At the checkers, it was Cameron who prevailed despite several attempts by Josh to make the pass for the lead. The victory was Cam’s third of the year, and he currently sits in second place in the Championship, with Josh in the lead by 35 points.

After the win, Cameron said, “The track felt pretty good this morning, and it’s getting better and better as we run more laps. This afternoon’s race should be good. This one was tough with Josh and I working hard at the front. On the final lap, I knew Josh was right there, but I rode a defensive line and got the win. I’m really happy and can’t wait for the next race.”

SuperBike Race 2 from Mid-Ohio will start at 2:00 PM EST Sunday.
