Zemke, 20 More, from a press release issued by Yamaha: Twin-Cam Beaubier Ties Record With His Ninth DSB Win Of The Season And Second Of The Weekend For Yamaha Extended Service/Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha; Teammate Gerloff 2nd At Miller Motorsports Park Tooele, UT – August 4, 2013 – Consistency is the secret to success in AMA Pro Road Racing, and the Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team has it as AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike Race 2 was almost a carbon-copy of Saturday’s race from Miller Motorsports Park. Cameron Beaubier once again took the win, which was his ninth victory out of ten races this year, and he tied the record for most DSB wins in a single season. Cameron’s teammate Garrett Gerloff was, once again, a very close second in a race in which he took a couple of turns in the lead. Also as was the case yesterday, the top-five finishers in today’s race were all aboard Yamaha YZF-R6s in another dominant showing for the crossed-tuning-forks brand. “It’s really been a dream season for me,” Cameron said after his record-tying win. “My crew of Olly (Hutchinson) and Skye (Girard) have really worked hard to give me a great bike all season long. It was a fun race today, just like it was yesterday. We had an awesome battle out there, and I really enjoyed it.” Garrett said, “Getting a second at Laguna Seca gave me a lot of confidence coming into Miller, and I’m really happy with my results. I was able to run up front and lead the race both yesterday and today, so I’m hungry for a win.” With just two rounds and three races left to go in the 2013 season, Cameron has a commanding 87-point lead in the Championship points standings and, on the strength of his strong finishes yesterday and today, Garrett is now in third place. The Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team will be back in action on the weekend of September 13 through 18 for Round 8 of the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike Championship, which is the New Jersey Lottery Devil’s Showdown at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ.
