RACERS TAKE TO THE TRACK ON HISTORIC, VINTAGE MOTORCYCLES AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK

GOODLETTSVILLE, TN., August 5, 2014 – Nostalgia and competition come together on Labor Day weekend, August 29-31, for all of Utah’s motorcycling enthusiasts to see during the ninth annual Bonneville Vintage Grand Prix. Enjoy heart-pounding, knee-dragging excitement, as these historic machines are put through their paces on the 2.2-mile East Course at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele.

The Bonneville Vintage Grand Prix will be celebrating its ninth year at Miller Motorsports Park; the event has been on the calendar since the Park opened in 2006. American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) members bring beautiful and historic motorcycles out for Utah fans to admire. A laid-back atmosphere and the friendliness of the competitors, plus the look back at old-time machinery combine to make this one of the most enjoyable weekends of the year. Bring the family and take a look at how motorcycle racing was in simpler times.

Vincent is the featured marque of the Motorcycle Classics Magazine Vintage Bike Show on Saturday, August 30. On Sunday, Salt City Builds will host a Custom Bike Show, and enthusiasts can pick up one-of-a-kind bits for their own bikes in the swap meet and vendor area all weekend.

This year AHRMA is celebrating its 25th year – providing on-track classic bike competition to its members; showcasing everything from the pre-1940 bikes dominated in this country by American iron (but also open to the exotic European, even supercharged, machinery), all the way up to the early-‘90s Superbikes.

AHRMA is also conducting its Fast & Safe Roadracing School on August 29 for those who are interested in learning the ins and outs of motorcycle roadracing. Riders who pass the school may race with AHRMA on the weekend. For more school information, call (910) 431-2956.

About AHRMA: The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association, Ltd. is a member-owned, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of classic motorcycles, while educating the public about those machines. With about 4000 members, AHRMA is the largest vintage racing group in North America, and is one of the world’s leading classic-bike organizations. For more information, please visit www.ahrma.org

More, from a press release issued by Arthur Kowitz:

TEAM ZEUS of the UNIVERSITY of CALGARY to contest eMotoRacing event at Miller Motorsports Park

On August 29 – 31, eMotoRacing will hold it’s 8th race of the 2014 season at Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele, Utah. We have had a great stirring of rumors as to who will be in attendance. One thing is certain — there will be a good mix of contestants, including the official Brammo racing team, and Team “ZEUS” of the University of Calgary. “ZEUS” stands for “Zero Emission Ucalgary Superbike”, and the team is comprised of engineers, business and physics majors. The team will be racing their Generation I bike, which uses an Agni 95-R motor mounted to the frame of a 2004 Suzuki GSX 600, which was straight from the factory, and then stripped of its gasoline engine components. We are excited to see this eBike in action! To check out more about Team ZEUS, hit their website or facebook page.

The Miller Motorsports Park venue is a state of the art complex, and at nearly 4.5 miles, is the longest road racing facility in North America. The track boasts interestingly named corners such as “Scream”, “Diablo”, Bad Attitude” and “Satisfaction”. Opened in 2006, the track was originally a novelty track for Larry H. Miller, and designed by renowned engineer Alan Wilson. In addition to the upcoming eMotoRacing event, the park hosts both the AMA Superbike Championship and the World Superbike Championship.

About eMotoRacing: The eMotoRacing series aims to showcase the amazing innovation in the zero-emissions field. eMotoRacing spawned out of the vacuum left when other zero-emissions racing venues ceased operations in the U.S.A. Strategic partnership with AHRMA has given us desirable race tracks and reliable race dates.
