Young started his racing career as a child in dirt track and then became a full-time road racer at age 15. He competed in the Superstock and Supersport classes as well as Formula Xtreme before moving to the Superbike class in 2009. He finished sixth overall in his rookie Superbike year and was on the podium four times. He missed one race after being injured at the Birmingham, Alabama, round of the series, in which he needed surgery to repair his pinkie finger. He returned in time for the Road America stop in Elkhart Lake, Wis., which is close to his hometown.
Blake finished the 2011 season with his best results in the AMA Pro American Superbike class, grabbing a solid 2nd place in the series after being in contention for the championship much of the season. For 2012, Young will once again be working with legendary crew chief Peter Doyle.
Biography
Born September 20, 1987. Single. Blake Young has been racing motorcycles for most of his life. When not racing sportbikes, Young spends time on the road riding his bicycle, or off-road on a mountain bike or MX motorcycle. He enjoys hanging out with friends as well. The 23-year-old Madison, Wisconsin native is set to challenge the competition for the Champioship in AMA Pro American Superbike class.
